Are you trying to decide where to have your next meeting or event? Georgetown Public Library may be the answer!
– Our prices are reasonable and include tables and chairs. (Check out the drop-down listing of fees, below)
– We ask that you make your request by using our on-line form: Reserve a Meeting Room! or by emailing georgetown.library@lib.de.us
– We must receive your reservation at least five business days in advance of the rental of any room. Reservation requests more than six months in advance will not be accepted.
– The length of your reservation must include set-up and tear down.
– Our meeting room area is located on the 2nd floor. It accessible by elevator or stairs, has nearby restrooms, and a kitchen is available, depending on your choice of rental.
Meeting Rooms A & B combined (52 ft. x 34 ft.) can hold approximately 200 people — standing room only. If tables and chairs are required, the large room can comfortably hold 100 – 125 seated people. The tables are rectangular (2 ½ ft. by 5 ft.) and can seat 4 people per table if using both sides of the table. To reserve the large room, please select Meeting Room A and Meeting Room B.
In the event that an organization cancels its meeting, the organization’s designated representative will notify the Library as soon as possible. The fee may not be reimbursed.(7/7/2020)
Meeting Room A or Meeting Room B (25 x 34 ft) With a folding wall, two groups can use one-half of the meeting room at the same time. Max capacity in each half: 50 people. To reserve half of the room, please select Meeting Room A or Meeting Room B.
Delaware Room Max capacity: 10 people
Teen Room Max capacity:
Classroom Max capacity: 25 people
Additional Fees

General Policy
The Georgetown Public Library Board of the Commissioners (Board) is the owner of the library building located at 123 West Pine Street and has the sole jurisdiction for use of its facilities. The library meeting room(s) are available for use by individuals or groups that do not engage in, and are not affiliated with, prohibited activities. Prohibited activities include but are not limited to activities that meet the following descriptions:
● Threatening or dangerous
● Illegal
● Damaging to property
● Hate speech
● Interfering with other patrons’ library use
The library reserves the right to deny and/or suspend meeting room use by any individual or group.
The Board will evaluate all applications and reserves the right to reject any application for meeting room use that is not consistent with this policy. The Board also reserves the right to reject any application by a group or organization whose previous use has resulted in damage or interfered with the use of the library by other patrons.
By order of the Fire Marshall, the large meeting room capacity is limited to 200 people.
The address and telephone number of the library may not be used as the official address of any organization using a meeting room, with the exception of the Friends of the Georgetown Library and other library-sponsored groups.
Guidelines
Organizations that do not fulfill their obligations as enumerated in this policy may be denied use of meeting facilities in the future. A list of these organizations will be kept in the Library’s Public Information Office. If the organization wishes to appeal the denial, it may submit a letter of appeal to the Georgetown Public Library’s Board of Commissioners.
